Short Film Competition for Kids
Make a short film and you could be a winner!
Objectives: By the end of this project, the students will have:
Grade: 4th (4/A and 4/B mixed)
Length of Film: 4 minutes. (Min. 3 mins, Max. 5 mins.)
Needs: Video camera, flash drive or a CD to save the movie file.
Date Due: 12 December, 2011
Film Screening and Evaluation: 16December, 2011
PROCEDURE
1) Select FOUR (4) friends, so that your group has five members. The groups will be determined by the students, with the assistance and intervention of the teacher, if necessary.
2) Plan and write your story with your group members. Use the attached ‘storyboard’ to develop main shots/scenes.
3) Record your story with a high quality video camera, paying careful attention to volume and clarity, at a location that will suit your story. (Ask your parents or another relative to do the shooting/recording of your group enactment.)
4) Presentation, Assessment and Evaluation: Present the movie in the lunch hall to a jury.
Note: Study the assessment and evaluation rubric (attached) to understand how the grade will be determined. A small percentage (10%) of the points will be given by a jury when your movie is presented in the lunch hall.)
